A five year study of more than 150 couples. The same surgeon performed all the vasectomy reversals and if IVF was performed instead then testicular sperm were extracted by fine needle aspiration (FNA) or testicular sperm extraction (TESE).
The difference in delivery rates between the vasectomy reversal  group (40.0%) and the IVF  group (43.8%) was not statistically significant. Th time  to pregnancy was shorter in IVF pathway, at 8.2 versus 16.3 months in the reversal  group.
